Safe-T-Lite
When barricades replaced traditional flare pots used in road construction and flashing lights in 1959, D.E.
White knew that an opportunity for serving the needs of industry was coming his way. Quickly outgrowing his
first ranch location in West Modesto on Michigan Ave. in 1960, he moved to a larger facility at 5866 S.
Highway 99 (business 99) again in downtown Modesto. The first customer of the company was PacBell (then Pacific
Telephone). They rented barricades and flashing lights. Then in 1964 the company moved to its current location
where it experience tremendous growth from 1979 through the 80's, and 90's and beyond due to the population
boom in Central California.
In 2005 Safte-T-Lite expanded again doubling their square footage at the upgraded facility on Emerald Avenue
next to highway 99.
Safe-T-Lite employs 14 people including Bob and Janet White, Scott and Alicia White. This is truly a family
company.
